City Parks

Riverbend Park is Mount Vernon's newest park (completed in 2013) and is adjacent to Sherburne park at the intersection of Water Street and Main Street.  Riverbend features wonderful views of the Ohio RIver and many benches to take in the scenery.  Riverbend also features a splash pad and an amphitheater which hosts many things like movie nights and concerts by local artists.  It is available for use (contact us at 838-3691 for reservations).




Sherburne Park is located on Water Street at the riverfront in Mt. Vernon. Come enjoy one of the finest views of the Ohio River. The park features picnic tables, park benches and playground equipment. The park is open from 6:00am to 11:00pm daily.
 
Sherburne Park

Brittlebank Park is located on O'Donnell and Smith Roads. The park is set on 40 acres in the Northwest corner of Mt. Vernon. The park is open from 6:00am to 11:00pm daily and features Brittlebank Pool, several baseball fields, playgrounds, four (4) tennis courts, three (3) shelter houses and a small fishing pond. Call 838-3691 to reserve a shelter.

Fairview Park
is located on Fairview Drive off of Sherman Street.  The park features BRAND NEW playground equipment, swings, and a half-court basketball court.






Kimball Park
is located at the corner of Kimball and Sycamore Streets.  This neighborhood park features a playground, a swing set and park benches.  The park is open from 6:00am to 11:00pm daily. 



 



Kiwanis Park is located at611 W 8th Street. The Senior Citizens Center in Mt. Vernon is located at the park. The park features a ball field and a half-court basketball surface.





 
Imagination Station at College Park is located on the grounds of the Alexandrian Public Library. The Imagination Station was built in 2000 by the community of Mt. Vernon. In May of 2010, the Library Board and the Mt. Vernon-Black Township Parks and Recreation Department partnered up to maintain the playground. The Parks Department with some help from volunteers are bringing the playground back to life. In September 2010, the Library Board held a 10 year anniversary/rededication ceremony.
